this is our second time staying at the Bennett house, the house is located near downtown. the rooms are comfortable and spacious and Richard makes a great breakfast . I have stayed in the hunter room and the belle room, both are great. next time I go to Richmond I will be sure to stay there again. (October 2016)
Great place to stay, thumbs up. – Jim Plessinger
The Bennett House B&B is almost completely furnished with authentic antiques from the 18th century. The rooms are cozy and warm and Richard, our host, made the most delicious pecan French toast omelet with fresh fruit for breakfast. We absolutely loved our one night stay. (June 2016)
My wife and I had a great stay at the Bennett House Memorial Day weekend. This was our first time staying at a B&B so I can only compare it to staying at a hotel. Booking was a breeze directly through the Bennett House website, host was very pleasant and helpful and the house is a real gem located downtown near shops and restaurants. We would gladly stay there again. (June 2016)
This old, historic building on the edge of downtown Richmond, a stone’s throw from Eastern Kentucky University is filled with antiques, but has up to date wi-fi and flat screen tv’s. This elegant small hotel is the perfect place to stay if you are attending an event at the new EKU Arts Arena or a college football or basketball game. Richard & Rita Smart, Innkeepers, your congenial hosts, also prepare a delicious breakfast. The best place to stay in the Richmond area. (April 2016)
This was our second time staying at the Bennett house. We enjoyed our stay the second time more because our daughter was getting married! (August 2015)
We stay at the Bennett House when we visit Richmond, and it’s always clean and comfortable. The service is great, and breakfast is a treat. The house is beautiful, and the owners have done a wonderful job preserving it. The woodwork is amazing! (July 2015)
The hosts were very business oriented and accommodating. My ride was being threatened by overcast skies and drizzle, so I chose the Bennett House on very short notice and was greeted warmly by the host at the door. The setting, which is atop a rise and walking distance from all the city and government workings, tells you how important this home was when it was built. It retains all of its original charm, and it is exemplary of what a BnB should be. (June 2015)
My two sisters and I were in town for a concert at the local college. This was a much nicer option than a hotel room! We stayed in the Ashley suite with two double beds, a small kitchenette and a separate living area. The bathroom was very nice too. (April 2015)
This is honestly the best B&B I have ever been too me and my wife have travelled all over Europe and the rest of the world .I don’t usually feel the need to give a review but with this place I must. The rooms are spacious and the beds are massive the ceilings are very high and the house is very old . university of Kentucky is nearby but you wouldn’t notice also a main road is out front but again you wouldn’t notice and cannot hear anything outside while your inside the property . The breakfast is amazing and homemade also. The place is owned by a old couple incredibly accommodating and polite . I’d go again when I’m next down this way for sure. (April 2015)
